Create an Assignment
An Assignment is a collection of tasks for users (participants) to complete
- Click “Assignments”, then “Create Assignment” from navigation bar
- Complete the following information
- Assignment Name
- Start Date - Date access by users to assignment should begin
- End Date - Date access by users to assignment should end
- Select Group(s)
- Choose from group lists which groups should receive this assignment. Keep in mind the hierarchy of groups when selecting which groups will receive a particular assignment. (e.g., if assigned to a class, only users in that class will see the assignment; if assigned to a site then all cohorts, schools, and classes associated with the site will see the assignment)
- More than one group can receive the same assignment
- If users get added to an existing group at a later date; you do not need to create a new assignment for those users. They will automatically see any assignment previously designated to the group. If you do not want a set of users to see previous assignments, then a new group should be created.
- Selected Groups
- Shows which groups have been selected to receive the assignment
- Select Tasks
- Under “Select TaskID”, choose the tasks to be added to the assignment
- Select a TaskID to display a list of variants (e.g., language variants) exception - survey task: survey language is determined by user’s browser settings and survey version (child, caregiver, teacher) is determined by user type at registration so only one variant of the survey will show in the list. Always select this variant when assigning the survey regardless of the user type.
- Chosen variants will show in the Selected Tasks list
- Optional: Apply age or user type conditional formatting to individual tasks
- Within the Selected Tasks list, click the edit button on a specific task variant (pencil icon)
- Use the “Field”, “Condition”, and “Value” fields to designate the condition
- Click “save”
- Dropdown icon shows designated conditions for each task variant
- Sequential Task Order - determines whether tasks present in a predetermined order
- “Yes” - Tasks will be shown to users in the order listed within “Selected Tasks”. Tasks remain locked until the previous task is completed. Task order can be rearranged within the Selected Tasks pane prior to finalizing the assignment, but not after
- “No” - Tasks will be shown to the user in the order listed in Select Tasks, but are not locked such that the user can choose the order in which tasks are completed
- Click “Create Assignment”
- All users within the designated Group(s) can now see and complete the assignment
