Creating Groups

Creating groups is the first step in setting up data collection. There are two group structure pathways to choose from based on data collection and/or participant recruitment methodology (Cohort OR School/Class). The top level designation is “Site” which is assigned to research teams by the Data Coordinating Center (DCC). Please contact the DCC to obtain a “Site” designation.

cohort - grouping classification for non-school based data collection

school - grouping classification for school-based data collection

class - sub-group used with school-based data collection (must create a school first) and teacher survey assignments

Create Group(s)

  1. Click “Groups” in navigation bar, then “Add Group”
  2. Complete the following information (fields marked with an asterisk are required)
    1. Group Type* = select type of group to be created (school, class, cohort). If using school/class, schools must be created before classes
    2. Group Name* = Name to define the particular group
    3. Tags = Optional additional label (ex: test group)
  3. Click “Create Group”
  4. Repeat process as necessary (ex: School 1; Class A, Class B, Class C)
